A romantic cabin getaway doesn't go exactly as planned.

High up on the windswept cliffs of Pale Peak, Faye and Felix celebrate their new engagement. But soon, a chorus of ghastly noises erupts from the nearby woods: the screams of animals, the cries of children, and the mad babble of a hundred mournful voices. A dark figure looms near the windows in the dead of night, whispering to Faye. As the weather turns deadly, Felix discovers that his terrified fiancée isn't just mumbling in her sleep—she's whispering back.

The story starts off really strong and gets repetitive half way through. The voice performance was also very over the top- be prepared for theatrical voices, extremely annoying pauses and peculiar way of reading. Also don’t forget the random yelling!

Strong start. The rest was simply mediocre

The story is creepy, solid, free of clisheeh.
Narrator suddenly yelling in my ears for no reason made listening challenging and unpleasant.

Nice book, bad audiobook

It seems like this story as well as the reading style are very hit or miss from person to person. For me its definitely a hit and discribes the experience of imminent evil crawling in your life in a very terrifying - what would I do? - kind of way

terrifying

I really enjoy the story, considering it started out as reddit posts, it really came a long way. It's the right amount of creepy, funny and emotional. I've read and heard it a couple of times now and for me it hasn't lost it's touch at all. The ending isn't crazy shocking or brutal but still came as a suprise when I first read the book. I agree that the narration needs some getting used to in the beginning but his voice is very enjoyable and he portrays the dialogue very well. All in all I'd recommend the book/audiobook, especially to those people who already enjoy formats like the nosleep reddit and podcasts and are looking for a longer story to read or listen too.

A good read and listen

Ich kann die Story nur weiterempfehlen, der Sprecher war klasse. Es gibt nichts zu meckern
