Super Zusammenfassung, wo Handlungsbedarf besteht und wie man selbst aktiv werden kann

Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten. Bitte versuche es in ein paar Minuten noch einmal.
Ich habe das Buch auf Empfehlung von Fareed Zakaria in seiner CNN Sendung gekauft. Ich selbst arbeite im Bereich Nachhaltigkeit in der Chemieindustrie und kenne die Materie sehr gut. Der Autor stellt die Segmentierung unseres Fußabdrucks korrekt dar. Allerdings werden die Maßnahmen der CO2 Reduktionen viel zu oberflächig behandelt. Beispielsweise was die synthetischen Kraftstoffe angeht geht der Autor in keiner Weise auf die Flaschenhälse dieser Technologie ein und gibt lediglich Produktionsziele aus, welche aber völlig unrealistisch sind. Der Text des Buches ist gespickt mit Gastbeiträgen der prominenten Bekanntschaft des Autors, wie Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Al Gore, Laurene Powell (Jobs' Witwe), die CEOs von WalMart, Google, Blackrock und viele andere. Alle diese Millionäre und Milliardäre beteuern die Progressivität Ihrer jeweiligen Unternehmen und ihr eigenes glühendes Engagement für die Umwelt. Dies alles kommt rüber wie Greenwashing und verkapptes Marketing.

Das Buche enthält auch einige sonderbare weil grobe faktischen Fehler wie etwa die globale Gesamtemission von Treibhausgasen, die mit 59 Gigatonnen pro Jahr anstatt der korrekten 50 Gt angegeben wird.

Des weiteren geht das Buch mit keinem Wort auf das kapitalistische Wachstumsmodell ein und hinterfragt dies in keiner Weise. Clean Tech ist lediglich tolles Business, na dann ist ja alles prima!

Wie gesagt, für den Fachmann ist das Buch äußerst dünn, oberflächlich und wenig konkret. Es kommt etwas collagen-artig und zerrissen rüber durch all die wenig aussagekräftigen Gastbeiträge. Insgesamt ein für mich enttäuschendes Buch.

Die Sprecher sind aber alle handwerklich gesehen gut, am ihnen lag es also nicht.
