Inhaltsangabe

War has come to the Willful Institute. It has come to the first realm.

For years Alva has trained, developed weapons, and tactics never seen in the 10 realms. Now Alva moves in the background, supporting the Adventurer's Guild. No band of fighters, no sect looking to gain individual honors.

The armies of Alva were forged together in Alva dungeon.

Tempered in body, in mind, in mana. Supported by Alvan traders, crafters, they reclaimed the lost floors of their home. They captured Vuzgal and defended it in the vicious battlefield realm.

Now Alva is going to war. Their abilities, their skills tested head on. One individual is strong. A nation focused, a nation brought together for a single goal. It is something that could shake the very foundations of the ten realms. A beast stirs in the Beast Mountain Range, raising their eyes to the higher realms. It is time Erik and Rugrat stepped out of the shadows.

Huge Disappointment

As a huge fan of the series, i was really looking forward and got bitterly disappointed:( The whole book is a completely dragged out battle that lasts approx 20 hours, even though it could have been covered in 2 hours. There is basically no progression of the story and why this is called the seventh realm is beyond me as the whole book takes place in the 4th realm. This book is honestly so inferior to every other book of the series that it is hard to believe it is written by the same author. I hope we get the style of the previous books back for the next one as this one really sucked. I really beg the author to stay away from those excessive combat scenes, they are endlessly boring and the world building and characters of this series are so great that none of that is needed. i seriously almost returned the book, even though this was one of my favorite series on audible up to this book.

Seventh Realm? You wish...

I would call it Realm 4 part 3 or so. 10 hours in and still no 7th Realm in sight. Just some military positioning and Realm 4 Book Situation reheating with higher Levels.

Books are getting worse...

Books seems to have been e written in a hurry. 80 % of the story is just one fight that goes on and on ... and on. Almost no character development of MCs for such a long book. Instead the same story is told from the viewpoint of dozens of people. Again in this book, so many more people are introduced that it is easy to loose track.
The performance of the reader is not good. He seems to have been as bored as i was through most of the fighting. Reading slowly when it was not needed and far too fast throughout most parts.
And suddently... there are parts of the book that are actually interesting and show that the author can write... if he tries... and that this universe could be so much more!!
Please dear author, give us more of the 10 realms mystery and much much less of people firing guns from earth!! Give us magic, feelings, progression of characters and stay away from boring battle reports!

90% of this book could have been told in 1-2h

Not sure why the author loves to bore his reader / listener with boring unnecessary plot line regarding the first part of the war. I enjoyed the style of the first books, no unnecessary description and a clear plot line. But this one is like a bag of chips full of air and a few left overs …

nope, another story that dies for spectacle

The way the climax of this part of the story is setup makes absolutely no sense and doesn't feel like a natural story progression.
The reason for that disconnect are many small decisions and actions of the protagonists and their ppl. The main problem is how they handled the war, they had the protagonists with their covert super groups and at the beginning they knew pretty much everything, so why in hell didn't they just attack the leaders and cut off the heads of the hydra? No, instead we get the protagonists having a midlife crisis about not being able to do what they want throughout most of the story. Pretty much all of their problems could've been avoided if they had killed off the leadership while the rest of their military attacked the cities.
The way they were willing to sacrifice ppl only to hide how strong they are even though it was pretty obvious they wouldn't win without a show of overwhelming force is another problem, that's not something the protagonists of book 1-5 would've done.
Then there is the way all the allies of the protagonists just abandoned them but their enemy had no problem to find allies even though they lost most of their wealth, were actively attacking other sects in realm 3 and even after thousands of deaths without any rewards in sight.

This story feels like it was written backwards, it feels like the author knew what the end should be and then the buildup was written in a way that doesn't feel right just to get to that end. Classic spectacle over story.
