Über diesen Titel

Tinker's Cottage nestles in a forgotten corner of deepest Somerset. It also happens to sit on a weak point in the space time continuum...which is somewhat unfortunate for Ian Faulkener, a graphic novelist from London, who was hoping for some peace and quiet in which to recuperate following a very messy breakdown.

It was the cats that first alerted Ian to the fact that something was not quite right with Tinker's Cottage...the cats and, of course, the Pope, disappearing literary agents, mislaid handymen and the insanity of Cherie Blair World. As Ian tries to untangle the mystery of the doors of Tinker's cottage, he risks becoming lost forever in the myriad alternate universes predicted by Schrödinger. Not to mention his cats.

Schrödinger's Cottage is a playful romp through a variety of alternate worlds peopled by an array of wonderful comic characters that are the trademark of David Luddington's novels.

For fans of the sadly missed Douglas Adams, Schrodinger's Cottage is a heartwarming comedy with touches of inspired lunacy that pays homage to The Hitchhiker's Guide.

i didnt really know what to expect but an hommage to hitchhikers guide to the galaxy got me interested. did not regret. got hooked after the first couple of minutes and fell in love with the sarcastic humour of the protagonist. great characters and not sure if there is anyone who could have read it better as well. must listen to for every fan of dictor who, space travel and general weirdness in fantasy. and cats of course

Die gedankliche Welt, die erschaffen wurde, mit dem Charme und dem Witz des Autors ist wirklich lustig und macht Lust auf mehr! Weit über die Hälfte des Buches trifft es total meinen Humor und es hat dabei auch die Erzählgeschwindigkeit, die ich richtig gut finde. Gegen Ende wird es etwas weniger ausgeschmückt und der Erzählstil wirkt, als wenn der Autor den Abgabetermin einhalten möchte. Wirklich nicht schlecht, nur etwas gehetzter und etwas weniger ausgeklügelt. Ich würde gerne dafür nur einen halben Stern abziehen, aber das geht ja nicht.

If Douglas Adams had written a cosy screwball comedy-mystery - this would be it. The narration reminded me more than once of Monty Pythons Flying Circus. So all in all: great fun!

Yes this story is a slow starter but explaining multiple universes is tricky and takes it’s time. But the author has his brilliant moments and he can be extremely funny. The narrator puts the cherry on the cake and it’s thanks to him that I didn’t give up after two chapters.

Easy going story with subtle (and not so subtle) humor about a recently from delusions recovered writer in a cottage with entries to parallel universes. Satirical stuff, phantastic speaker (Nigel Planer - known from Terry Pratchetts stories). Great fun!

Die Geschichte ist ganz interessant, wenn auch recht vorhersehbar. Man kann es gut durchhören und es ist unterhaltsam als leichte Lektüre für Zwischendurch.
