I enjoyed listening to this audio book, it was easy to follow, very insightful and at parts eye opening. It feels like finally you understand why you behave a certain way, being an introvert myself. I like that the author refers to scientific research in her book and could have gone on listening to it even longer.

Interesting audiobook, especially for introverts

That every human being is different and that depending on the circumstances an assumed weakness can be a strength and vice versa is not a major enlightment. Susan Cains story of the intraverts who indeed sometime achieve more than those assumed "achievers" is very well crafted. She has also embedded skillfully a couple of modern theories about the functioning of the brain, which are an interesting read, but lack somewhat substance. On the whole it is an interesting read but the writer falls into the trap of taking the audience for too stupid to understand the theories to their full extend: a real pity for a very interesting topic. As far as the narator is concerned: once you get used to the voice, it makes the story real as the softspoken voice reminds you that it is indeed a story of an intravert. Yes, I have learned something from the booK : extraverts & intraverts : it is the right mix that brings the real power.

This book exceeded my expectations. Ever wondered whether you are an introvert or extrovert? It is probably not that black and white, right?! This book will make you look at yourself and others from a new perspective. You will surprise yourself.

Challenges ideas which have become common wisdom, dense and to the point, great narrator, entertaining, thoughtful, insightful, eye opening, worth to re-read.

Dieses Buch wurde mit hervorragend ruhiger und angenehmer Stimme, mit einem angenehmen Rhythmus vorgetragen. Die Einteilung der Kapitel gibt Struktur und gestaltet das Hören übersichtlich - ich werde einige Kapitel mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit erneut hören. Nach diesem Buch verstehe ich nicht nur mich selbst, sondern auch mein Umfeld um Welten besser, es setzt den Grundstein für ein verständnisvolles Miteinander. Die Ausführungen zum Umgang mit Anderen geben wertvolle Denkanstöße für Eltern, Lehrer und eigentlich jeden, der sozial interagiert. Es hinterlässt mich mit Inspiration und einem neuen Blickwinkel. Jegliche Aussagen werden durch Studien belegt und sind somit glaubhaft. Auch das Kapitel zu „higly sensitives“ war überaus hörenswert. Alles in Allem ein empfehlenswertes Buch, welches über die gesamte Länge von etwa 10 Stunden überzeugt.

The main message of the author is that introverts aren’t worst than extroverts. In USA, the school system focuses a lot on extroverts.
I am not American and I never felt that I am less worthy than extroverts, hence, although she has few scientific facts and good anecdotes, it didn’t teach me much knowledge or aha moment.
I could imagine that for someone having big doubts about himself, it could be a motivating book to read/listen.
