There is no weapon more powerful than the [Psychokinetic] mind.
Astrid, a mischievous noble teen, long dreamed of exploring the ancient cities preserved beneath the waves, left behind from a time before the ocean swallowed the world. She's been training all her life to become a magic swordsman capable of doing just that.
But when an ancient monster long thought dead assaults humanity's last bastion–a floating ship-city–she awakens her System early.
Only, she's not a warrior as expected. She's forced to walk the path of a [Psychokinetic] Mage.
With Spawn-infested oceans, pirates looking to plunder, and mysterious monsters that lurk within Bubbled-Cites at the bottom of the ocean, Safety is anything but guaranteed.
She’ll learn levitation, object throwing, eyeball pulling, and more, all the way to the apex of psychic powers.
But, what happens when she discovers that her world was a lot larger than she–and the rest of humanity, once thought?
Don't miss the start of this action-packed and often hilarious LitRPG Apocalypse series about a young survivor with a craving for adventure and fighting. Perfect for fans of Azarinth Healer and Eight.
About the series: Astrid wasn't expecting to awaken as a mage class, but that won't stop her from having fun. In fact, she'll no longer need to resort to laborious activities, including, but not limited to; picking up stuff, carrying stuff, or even throwing stuff. Everything can be done with her mind!
©2023 FreeID (P)2023 Recorded BooksIf there gonna be more books, please don’t ruin a good story with endless stats.
If there were less stats, and those read in a less time consuming manner, I would strongly recommend it.
Interesting idea, nice story, but endless stats.

The narrator is stressing words for no reason all of the time, like a bad immitaion of expressionistic theatre. on top of that she fails in the consistency of different characters voice intonations. Lastly, she often pauses, seemingly because she failed to read something properly and instead of redoing the recording, she just didn't care.
Secondly, Story and characters:
While I don't have a particupar problem with any of the characters, most are just forgettable and feel distinctly fabricated, not to mention that the fricking main character is the epitome of this, plus she feels incredibly arrogant and hypocritical at times (calling others kids before losing her temper from some half-assed quip at her expense...
The story itself isn't much different. The setting itself is kind of interesting, but what the author dis with it, is nothing short of atrocious! While there might be some explanations, for questions that arise early on, in the later parts of the story, I honestly cannot be bothered to torture myself through the rest of this to get to them.
As stated in the title of my review, the story is incredibly repetitive, especially during fights (which make up about 70-80% of the book).
Badically it goes like this: Encounter some weak ass enemies -> fight them (exceedingly inefficiantly, just to get low on mana - then stating that she has to be conversative with her mana usage, only to block something or try to stop an enemy with her powers, basically emptying her mana pool and following that, bleeding from the nose and getting dizzy EVERY SINGLE TIME) -> some random strong enemy shows up or there are unforseen complications that get hyped up, just to get completely crushed by one forgettable character or the other, followed by a short rest, some progress into where she is headed, followed by pretty much the same overall shit again. Coupled with the fact that all monsters seem to have lined up perfectly to ensure the power creep is always centered on Astrid (for example during the wayfarer exam mission where most of the participants are super low level, the average enemy level is 20 which is just enough to make it a slight challenge for Astrid).
That mission is where I've had enough and decided that there are less torturous ways of wasting my time than listening to this crap!
The only reason I didn't give this overall 1* is, because I have listened to worse and this at least follows some kind of red thread, although I was really tempted to do so anyways😑
As soon as I can, I will refund this and I highly suggest you don't buy it in the first place.
terrible narration and very repetitive story-telling/fights
