Über diesen Titel

After quitting her job as a therapist, Tess's life became pretty slow. A tad boring, even.

It thus came as no small shock to her when she was chosen by a god.

Suddenly thrust into a new world where magic, monsters, and character levels are par for the course, Tess will find that simply surviving can be a challenge. It doesn't help that dark forces are stirring, she's woefully underpowered, and spiders keep trying to claw her face off.

One thing's for certain, though: if she can overcome it all, the possibilities are endless. Will she end up wrestling a dragon? Becoming an arch-mage? Opening up a quaint wine bar and bookstore for elves? The choice is hers...as long as she can live long enough to make it.

Protagonist is a fairly classic LitRPG novel with character levels, classes, stats, settlements, and other LitRPG elements.

I like the start and at the very beginning it makes sense for the protagonist to be in this perpetual state of fear and wonder in wich things just happen to her instead of her being proactive, but the longer the story goes on that starts to interfere with the flow of the story and it just devolves to "and then that happened and then this happened and then out of left field something entirely unexpected happened".
The protagonist feels more like a dummy with a camera instead of a head and we as the reader/listener are taken for a ride instead of an organic adventure where the protagonist is a person who can make decisions and actively interact with the world without someone else first telling her what to do.
It also doesn't help that the protagonist is so easily bullied by ppl who actually need her help, every time she lets herself get pushed around without any clear reason she feels less like a live character and more like a lifeless puppet.

The world is a pretty generic but presentable isekai world and the characters for the most part are ok, but I just don't like this style of story with the passive protagonist who just gets pushed through the theme park world by other characters and things happen along the way.

It's another one of those

surprisingly bad, radmon skills w/o much impact on stuff, rushed storytelling, feels like poor quality street food - edible if you're really hungry, but bin is where it should go

oh

The protagonist is the most passive wet noodle I have ever seen.
There are only 3 sections in the story where the protagonist isn't told what to do next. The first is when she decides to go shopping for a day. Nothing too creative, but it works. The second time is when she has to wait for her princess friend to get travel ready. She does nothing for a week. She just sits around and even says that she got bored. The 3rd section is a bit far into the book and I don't want to spoil too much context.
She also doesn't strive to be anything. Not somebody special, nor somebody living a normal life. People just come up to her and ask her to do stuff and she just says okay.

The gimmick of random level progression was always just a tool to make the protagonist even more passive, but was at least somewhat interesting for me at the beginning. Of course it got dropped halfway through the story when the protagonist got her class and class points.

This is not a believable world. People in this fantasy world use idioms that don't make sense without our world's history.
There is a city where only fighters live. People get ambushed and stabbed as an entrance test. How does a city like that feed itself? Who builds the buildings and infrastructure? Not sure a farmer would sell grain there if they have to kill somebody as a trade opener.
They have magic that makes people unkillable in combat, but don't use it for anything outside of training.

The writing style is passable. Nothing outstanding, but works fine. I only remember one scene that was written badly.

The speaker does a fine job. She speaks clearly and with a good rhythm. But she gives the protagonist a strangely whiny voice.

This is two weeks old bread
