Just binged the new Apes trilogy and went back to the 60s film and downloaded this out of curiosity. A bit different but veey interesting. Great performance by Greg wise too. I listened to this in just a couple of days, normally it takes me much longer because I lose interest.

I'd never read (or heard) this before, but I'm a huge fan of the movies (even the '70's sequels, Tim Burton reimagining and recent remakes).
I was excited to discover this version on Audible, but ultimately disappointed. Sadly, I found Greg Wise's reading to be quite lethargic and his 'American' accent pretty poor. I'd have much preferred someone like Dan Stevens, Michael Sheen or even Wil Wheaton give it a try...
It remains a great story though, and is worth discovering as a comparisson and companion piece to the Ape saga than most people know.
