This is definitely the most extensive report on the Cuban Missile Crisis I've came across so far. It covers the events from all perspectives (USA, USSR, Cuba) and also gives a lot of historical background. Although every one knows the outcome, it is written in a very exciting way. The author has revealed a few new facts about the crisis with this book, and in retrospect it is a miracle that all of this has not lead to nuclear war. Hopefully our leaders these days know their history and cool heads will prevail, because looking at current-day events (especially in North Korea, but also USA vs. Russia, USA vs. China, etc.) makes me wonder where all of this is heading.
