Über diesen Titel

Join these dark, dirty, and corrupt cowboys on the Carsons' ranch. Where boundaries are pushed, laws are broken, and limits get tested....

There's still plenty of work to be done to repair the damage my father caused. Now that another obstacle is out of our way, the Carson Ranch and the men branded to it will only become stronger.

Fork River is full of secrets and deception. The past haunts us all, but when the truth is unearthed, justice will be served. I've made plenty of mistakes in the past. Letting go of Maisie Wildman was the biggest one of them all. When she comes back to town, I'm determined not to let her go again. I'll prove to her and everyone else that when it comes to keeping her...

There.

Are.

No.

Limits.

No Limits is book two in the Corrupt Cowboys Series and the second part of Maisie and Garrett's duet. For mature listeners.

Since book one ended on a slight cliffhanger without giving us Garrett and Maisie’s HEA, I was impatiently waiting for the audiobook release—and thankfully it finally dropped.

This installment picks up three years after they last saw each other, and the pining? Stronger than ever.

Maisie is forced to return to the Carson ranch due to a family emergency, and Garrett—who has deeply regretted letting her walk away the first time—has spent those three years preparing himself (and his life) to win her back for good. And I loved that determination from him.

The dynamic between them has shifted:
• Maisie is noticeably more mature and no longer bratty like in book one.
• Garrett is softer, more open, less simmering rage and more intentional devotion.

While I personally preferred the more intense, broody Garrett from the first book, this growth made sense. He’s no longer running from his feelings—he’s ready to fight for them.

This book doesn’t focus solely on their relationship, though. We dive much deeper into Cole and Wade’s struggles, laying heavy groundwork for the next installments. I really appreciated that expanded family focus—it makes the Carson world feel bigger and more layered.

The suspense element remains engaging. Some secrets are revealed, and there’s a tragedy that shifts things significantly—but we still don’t have all the answers. The long game with the family secrets continues.

One thing I genuinely don’t understand: why are all the mothers in this series so unlikable? Every single one. It’s almost impressive at this point.

Now let’s talk spice—because yes, this time we actually get some. Unlike book one, which was practically closed-door, this installment delivers moderate spice. Nothing excessive or over-the-top, but present and well-balanced. I honestly expected Garrett to have some darker or kinkier edges considering his personality, but surprisingly he’s very vanilla. It worked for the story, though.

The narration was strong overall, just like in book one. Ryan H. Reid continues to deliver solid emotional depth. Sadie Provost also did a great job—but I have to admit, I don’t fully understand her choice to portray Garrett with that constant pressed-teeth, simmering tone. It often sounds like he’s about to explode in anger, even in scenes where he absolutely isn’t. It slightly pulled me out at times.

❗ However — and this is important:
There were so many name mistakes and inconsistencies throughout the book. Names were mixed up repeatedly—sometimes even within the same paragraph—and there were discrepancies between the audiobook and the e-book. It was confusing and honestly very frustrating while read-listening. That level of editing oversight shouldn’t happen in a published book.

Because of that, I deducted one full star. It significantly impacted my reading experience.

🌶️ Spice: 2.5

✏️ Editing: 1

Still, overall a strong continuation and a satisfying conclusion to Garrett and Maisie’s arc—while setting up even more drama for what’s coming next.

deeper family drama & finally some heat
