Über diesen Titel

Never Get Angry Again, by New York Times and internationally best-selling author David J. Lieberman, is a comprehensive, holistic look at the underlying emotional, physical, and spiritual causes of anger and a practical guide to what the listener can do to gain perspective.

David J. Lieberman understands that a change in perspective is all that is needed to help keep from flying off the handle. In Never Get Angry Again, he reveals how to see anger through a comprehensive, holistic lens, illuminates the underlying emotional, spiritual, and physical components of anger, and gives listeners simple, practical tools to snuff out anger before it even occurs.

Take a deep breath and count to 10. Meditate. Visualize your happy place. You've probably heard all of these anger management techniques and more from friends, family, and experts, but somehow they miss the mark when it comes to coping with the complex emotion of anger.

Let's face it: If anger-management techniques were effective, you wouldn't be listening to this audiobook. These clumsy attempts to maintain calmness are usually futile and sometimes emotionally draining. The fact is, either something bothers us (causing anxiety, frustration, or anger), or it doesn't. A state of calm is better accomplished by not becoming agitated in the first place. When we fight the urge to blow up or melt down, we fight against our own nature.

I really like this book and I found the narrator quite pleasant to listen to. BUT… It’s a shame that as of 2025 there are still audio books without the chapter names. I would be glad if they would be added.
I am happy to update my review once the chapter names are added.

Great content but no chapter names

Personally I found advice in this book very useful and helpful on an everyday basis. Certain chapters will not suit everyone, as the author discusses how faith can contribute to a better anger management. However, if you are an atheist, you will still find plenty of useful information inside. I happily come back to listen to certain chapters which I find particularly useful. It is a bit of a pity though, that the table of contents in this audiobook lists only chapter's numbers and no titles. It makes it rather difficult to find the section you are looking for.
Overall it is a great book. If you struggle with anger issues, this should definitely be on your shelf.

A great guide to anger management

Really truly helpful. Good balance of background information, base concepts, context, guidance and tools to act. I really recommend it.

Really helpful

The book is extremely unhelpful, and I’m saying it holding a master in psychology - it’s theoretical, ideological, anecdotal and pseudo-logical. It’s overly psychoanalytical, and (mis)information presented in the book is not backed by science or research, only by anecdotes or selective statistics. It’s fully of cliches like “accept yourself”, “you can only accept the world when you accept yourself”, “being angry is a choice”, etc. One of the most useless books I ever touched.

Ideological, theoretical, anecdotal - zero practical advice
