I understand that I can’t use my modern thought to judge the story of this author
But was all the time being trow out of the story, every time the author wrote about a African man

Sadly his pre concepts stop me to really enjoy the text

. . . So zumindest möchte ich den Großteil der Erzähler beschreiben, die zwar versuchen hier und da zu betonen, es dennoch nicht schaffen den Zuhörer zu fesseln. Damit ist freilich nicht jeder Sprecher gemeint (Der Erzähler von Dagon trägt die Kurzgeschichte ganz gut vor), aber wenn man bedenkt, das Es Kurzgeschichten des Grauens und Entsetzens sind, wo man ein gewisses Unbehagen empfinden möchte und gebannt zuhört weil man es vor Spannung kaum aushält, kann ich nicht behaupten, das den vielen Sprechern in dieser Version überhaupt gelungen ist den Reiz in Lovecrafts Geschichten, beim Vorlesen rüberzubringen. Wie ein Lehrer, der den Schülern kalte Fakten vorträgt.

Der Mythos vorgetragen von überarbeiteten Lehrern

"The horrible racism i have encountered in the works of lovecraft, is too terrible to utter, too abominable to describe. I fear i shall go mad if i repeat his insane words of white hubris. I shudder at the thought of the man's face, pale and waxlike in only the dim light of a stuttering candle, as he hunches over the page to scrawl yet another paragraph, filled with nothing but descriptions of the indescribable, and terror of african americans, and of course The italian. I dare say this but nothing more, for fear of nightly visits, shadows in the dark that whisper "oh noooo, i'm going maaaaad" accompanied by the cursed meow of the dreaded [n-word] man."

Writing style: lazy and repetitive but make it goth
Content: moderately creative but self congratulatory, little to no self reflection in the likely self inserted characters. The cat is definitely an insert of his actual cat. Also, racism.
In conclusion, the onision of his time.

I also wonder how the readers mentally dealt with being paid to say the n word so many times.
