It’s a great story and the writing is awesome. It’s interesting from the beginning until tell the end and it has some good plot twists.

The plot is quite good, the characters are rounded, the back and forth between present and past fits perfectly to weave the story together slowly. The twist at the end is also very clever. You might ask why I did not give the story 5 stars. It´s because I felt disgusted at having to listen to the story from the point of view of the perpetrator. I almost gave the book back after the first hour of listening. But then I have to say that the narrator of the story is a perfect mix of a normal, rather insecure, materialistic everyday person that you would not look at twice and a criminal who is totally unscrupulous and stops at (almost) nothing. The author managed that character depiction perfectly, but it still makes me feel nauseous.

This book has so many twists and turns that even though you will try to figure out the ending you simply can’t. A gripping book that keeps you listening with intrigue and suspense.
