Very good, but also very hard to listen (read)
Very well written! I just struggled to listen to some descriptions of scenes due to the nature of the story (mentions r*ape, grooming, abuse). I knew this, but I didn’t expect to be that triggered.

Convincing reading of a brave novel
Grace Gummer gives a fascinating interpretation of a very difficult character. And she is wonderful! Strong story.

Immer wieder Gänsehaut
Super intensives Hörbuch. Super Buch. Ich bin ein Fan von der Leserstimme und finde sie bei weitem nicht monoton. Schweres Thema, aber sehr komplexe Charaktere die sich erfolgreich stereotypen Schubladen entziehen.

Brilliant storytelling on a very dufficult topic
The story gives you a great insight into these very difficult topics of abuse, power imbalance and trauma, all while focusing on the character‘s perspective which offers a unique glimpse into the complexity of what she personally is going through and how she deals with it.

monoton
The dialogue is very simple and therefore it couldn't keep my interest. Overall, the book is about a phedophile teacher and its victim. I can't honestly take pleasure in hearing about grooming and rape. After 3h of listening I got really bored and then disgusted. I don't think the author has any talent writing therefore I have returned the book.
