Aimée Leduc is happy her long-time business partner René has found a girlfriend. Really, she is. I would like to be able to say something positive about this book, but the plot is meh and unfortunately Rebecca Gibel (despite having a French-sounding surname) was not briefed or did not research how the French terms should be pronounced.
She has a good voice, but I found myself increasingly irritated with her obvious and terrible mispronunciation and -as a result- sometimes very laboured diction.
Even pain au chocolat sounded as if it had been read by an Orange County Housewife.
My apologies to any OC housewife out there.
