Über diesen Titel

When secrets are revealed and a family agenda works against him, can Fitzwilliam Darcy recover his damaged spirits and find happiness?

Following his disastrous proposal to Elizabeth Bennet, Fitzwilliam Darcy returns to London from Kent, broken-hearted and dejected. One bright spot penetrates his sea of despair: His sister, Georgiana, has finally recovered her spirits from the grievous events at Ramsgate the previous summer. She has forged a new friendship with Miss Hester Drake, a lady who appears to be an ideal friend. In fact, Lady Matlock believes Miss Drake is Darcy’s perfect match.

Upon Elizabeth’s arrival at the Gardiners’ home from Kent, she finds that her sister Jane remains despondent over her abandonment by Mr. Bingley. But Elizabeth has information that might bring them together. She convinces her uncle Gardiner to write a letter to Mr. Bingley, providing key facts supplied to her by Mr. Darcy.

When Bingley discovers that his friend and sisters colluded to keep Jane’s presence in London from him, how will he respond? Given the chance, will Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth overcome their past misunderstandings? What will Darcy do when his beloved sister becomes a hindrance towards winning the lady he loves?

Why is it that so many of the variatons have an (vocally) abusive Darcy and an Elisabeth who says things like "nothing you do could stop me loving you"?
And next her thought is that the most important thing as a wife is "put a smile on his face".....

It started out mostly good. But the the last few (long) chapters were just bad Darcy and over angelic Lizzy. This diminishes the whole experience. Too many authors do not understand the difference between angst and abuse.

Also the good man that Ms. Bingley snatched, without even getting slightly better even so she apparently had a love match, made no sense whatsoever.

Georgiana's learning curve was really not that great Also her ending up with her former guardian, about 15 years older, is rather icky.

The way Elisabeth has to explain to other people how much she loves Darcy is grating to read. And than all male relations of Darcy wanted to marry Lizzy themselves because she was THAT special....

Lizzy suckling on Darcy's finger at a point were they haven't even kissed yet feels like reading a satire. And then the declaration he can only kiss her once because he would lose control (to immediately switch to sex) is not romantic or hot but rather disturbing. A grown man who is not able to slow the process is not romantic or "hot" but rather sounds like coming from a purity cult and feeds into the narrative that a man can not help himself.... (date rape often starts this way).

The author is hopefully single as she seems to have no concept of of healthy boundaries and cleary thinks jealousy is not a red flag but a compliment.

In the epilogue is also a little titbit that shows again how little understanding "Kelly Miller" has of P&P. Because unironically she lets Lizzy give her opinion about a Lady that her cousin wants to marry, even so she knows her a lot less than the Viscount. That she is doing the same thing she condemned Darcy for, concerning Jane and Bingley, even so it is approval instead of disapproval is just unintentionally hilariously showing that Miller is doing painting by numbers instead of creating something.

Stevie Zimmerman, as always, elevated a not even mediocre book.

Another bad variation....
