This is a book I wished I could have read years ago. Thank you so much for explaning and understanding: It is such a relief to finally hear about

What "mother hunger" is and how it relates to anxiety
What disenfranchised grief is
Why nurturance plays a vital role in attachment
Why pathological hope/fantasy (if I do this she will finally love me) and betrayed blindness triggers anxiety and keeps you stuck

Simply naming and understanding is healing.

Der Titel hat mich direkt angesprochen. Inhaltlich sehr gute Infos zu dem Thema. Die Sprecherin hat mir das hören sehr schwer gemacht. Sie hat viele Wortteile verschluckt. Die Lautstärke hat oft variiert innerhalb eines Satzes. Anstrengendes Hörerlebnis. Würde es eher als Buch lesen als als Audio Book Hören.

This book explains very well the essential three basic needs that a child hasm why a mother needs to be aware of these and how she can nurture those three essential needs. It helped me understand better what I was missing as a child where my pain was coming from. The book is dedicated to daughters who carry a painful mother hunger inside of them but also gifts not us who already are mothers some very nice and cautiously defined tips. Be aware that this is not a book of guidance but a book of understanding mother hunger.
Mother hunger is something that daughters all carry within us and it helped me to give my pain this name. I wouldn’t say that the book has helped me heal because this is still purely the job of specialised psychologist but it did help me immensely to understand mother hunger - how it develops and how we carry it in us as we grow older - and that does help a lot too. She did some amazing research and refers to other specialist in that area which was nice.
Overall, I would definitely recommend reading or listening to this book because it gives a lot of clarity to the pain or the questions that we have as daughters as we grow older and it does help the healing process because you will understand better.

This book is a blessing for me, it really is. Finally, I have words for my way of being. Finally so, after years and years of therapy. Thank you so much! Hopefully, it will soon be translated into many other languages! Thus, many more women are able to benefit from this eye opener.
