Über diesen Titel
Dweck explains why it's not just our abilities and talent that bring us success-but whether we approach them with a fixed or growth mindset. She makes clear why praising intelligence and ability doesn't foster self-esteem and lead to accomplishment, but may actually jeopardize success. With the right mindset, we can motivate our kids and help them to raise their grades, as well as reach our own goals-personal and professional. Dweck reveals what all great parents, teachers, CEOs, and athletes already know: how a simple idea about the brain can create a love of learning and a resilience that is the basis of great accomplishment in every area.
Kritikerstimmen
An utterly compelling story of how the way we think shapes our success. Essential reading for anyone with aspirations (Matthew Syed)
Everyone should read this book (Chip Heath and Dan Heath)
One of the most influential books ever about motivation (Po Bronson)
A good book is one whose advice you believe. A great book is one whose advice you follow. I have found Carol Dweck's work on mindsets invaluable in my own life, and even life-changing in my attitudes toward the challenges that, over the years, become more demanding rather than less. This is a book that can change your life, as its ideas have changed mine (Robert J. Sternberg)
If you manage people or are a parent (which is a form of managing people), drop everything and read Mindset (Guy Kawasaki)
Through clever research studies and engaging writing, Dweck illuminates how our beliefs about our capabilities exert tremendous influence on how we learn and which paths we take in life (Bill Gates)
An essential read for parents, teachers [and] coaches . . . as well as for those who would like to increase their own feelings of success and fulfillment
Replacing your fixed mindset with a growth mindset enables you to easily see and accept your shortcomings without getting emotionally involved or attached to them.
You see your shortcomings for what they are. Temporary. They don't define you but are simply a representation of the amount of effort - or rather the lack thereof - you have put into fixing them thus far.
If you want to improve yourself, you can!
You are likely going to struggle to do so but precisely in going through that struggle and overcoming it is where that growth of yourself occurs and that growth is permanent. By going through that struggle you are now more than you were before, better than you were before, more capable than you were before.
Adapting a growth mindset is incredibly uplifting and empowering. It makes you realize how incredibly capable you are of helping yourself.
What A Game Changer!

Too much of: why this is great, too little of: how to do this
