An enriching lesson
Neither am I a person of color, nor a published writer though I love to write.
But I am a woman and I am old.
This book by Bernadine Evaristo titled Manifesto is not excluding people who are not of her "group". I feel very much included and in every chapter could I find a bit of myself. She is very clear in her statements which helped me to think about mine in a straighter way.
One time listening to her reading will not suffice. So much wisdom of a rich life calls for a second maybe a third time! It's been my first book by her, but now others will follow.

Inspiring memories from a brillant writer
Oh nothing more inspiring than a life well lived, passions strongly followed, and forgiveness coming from experience. I am so glad that Ms. Evaristo can teach us, laugh with us, and take us on the journey to forgive our families, lovers, and ourselves. This book is very different from what I expected, but it was as easy to love as my imagination of it.
