Über diesen Titel
Can a demon save the world? It may fall on one to do just that.
After thousands of people suddenly vanish from Earth, former gymnast Jade Callian finds herself thrust into an endless dungeon filled with magic, monsters, and far too few instructions. When Jade receives a mortal wound soon after her arrival in this new world, she is forced to pick a new race that has the power to save her. There's just one problem: Her only choice is to turn into a succubus.
If she wants to protect her home Jade will have to defy her demonic instincts, find trusted companions, battle monsters, and unravel the dangerous mysteries surrounding this ancient labyrinth. She just wishes that she had more than demon seduction magic to help her.
Oh well. At least she got to pick her class.

Absolute recommendation!
I already know the book, have even read the second part in its entirety and can say that few stories have fascinated me as much as this one.
In "Lost Souls and a Demoness", listeners can expect a complex fantasy world with influences from D&D, gaming and a pinch of science fiction. In a deadly world, three young people have to face unexpected dangers and are forced to constantly train and improve their skills in order to perhaps somehow break out of the unreal hell into which they have been involuntarily thrown. You quickly build up an intimate relationship with the protagonists and soon feel the warmth of the deep friendship that develops between the three main characters amidst all the horrors and dangers. Before you know it, you're rooting for the unlikely trio and I could hardly put my phone down the first time I read the book (which was originally published as an online novel). I love the writing style, which is detailed in the right places and otherwise direct and clear. The author succeeds particularly well with the battle scenes.
The story itself is action-packed and complex and incredibly sophisticated, especially in terms of the worldbuilding. There is so much to discover here! Thanks to the sophisticated skill system, the many fights are always exciting and become more and more complex with increasing level-ups over the course of the story. So after winning a battle, I was twice as happy when the protagonist Jade moved up a level and unlocked new skills.
The narrators of this audiobook do a good job, but not an outstanding one. They both manage to convey the story in an exciting and credible way. However, in my opinion, they lack the naturalness and depth of intonation to leave a lasting impression, especially in quieter passages. The female voice and main narrator Rebecca Woods in particular shines in the tense scenes — and that's a good thing, because these make up a large part of the book. Mayfiled, on the other hand, is a pleasant change of pace simply due to his presence as a complementary male voice and thus provides variety. Unfortunately, due to the presence of a second speaker, some of the phrases intended for orientation, such as "Luis said", sometimes seem out of place or simply too much, whereas in the printed form they were quite sensible and helpful. In general I still found the adaptation of the book with the help of two narrators refreshing. Ultimately, however, the audiobook is a pleasure to listen to mainly because the constant tension on a content level makes it more than difficult to tear yourself away from the story.
For those who don't care whether they read or listen to a book, I would recommend the printed version of this book. For everyone else this audiobook is just as suitable — as long as you read/listen to it! I have wholeheartedly supported the author of this story since the first chapters were published and I am a true fan of "Lost Souls and a Demoness". I can only recommend this book to every fantasy fan and sincerely hope it gets the attention it deserves in my eyes soon.
