In Life, the Universe and Everything – the third title in Douglas Adams' blockbusting sci-fi comedy series, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy – Arthur Dent finds himself enlisted to prevent a galactic war.

In consequence of a number of stunning catastrophes, Arthur Dent is surprised to find himself living in a hideously miserable prehistoric Earth. However, just as he thinks that things cannot possibly get any worse, they suddenly do. He discovers that the galaxy is not only mind-bogglingly big and bewildering, but also that most of the things that happen in it are staggeringly unfair.

Escaping the end of the world for a second time, Arthur, Ford, and their old friend Slartibartfast embark (reluctantly) on a mission to save the whole galaxy from fanatical robots. Not bad for a man in his dressing gown . . .

Follow Arthur Dent's galactic (mis)adventures in the rest of the trilogy with five parts: So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish, and Mostly Harmless.

Even if you know the radio play, this version is recommended - the late Douglas Adam's and Martin Freeman just don't disappoint.

I did not forsee the many plot twist which made it exciting and surprising to listen to and Martin Freeman is awesome as always.... doing a hilarious Zaphod Beeblebrox. I liked it very much.
But... One should definitely not start with this story as the first one or many references will be missed!

It is as good as the previous two books. I listened to them consecutively, as binge watching a series. I like how the story keeps you engaged. Martin Freeman is amazing as always. I could see him acting in my mind, while he was reading. It's just so good.

i liked the first two better but douglas' way of writing dialogue and how it is performed here are aaamazing,
