Too many Christians have been taught that Moses and the Old Testament are about law, and that Jesus and the New Testament are about gospel. This separation of the Bible into two, "Old" and "New", has done a great deal to distort its message. It is gospel that speaks a word of life into our death-dealing struggles with racism, sexuality, poverty and debt, oppression, and other themes that dominate American life.

There is a single woven thread throughout scripture that ties together patriarchs, prophets, disciples, and apostles. Never again will you wonder what the Bible is about, for throughout its pages it proclaims the good news that God is a liberating God.
