It only took four years for the world to fall apart.

Now the last member of my family has died, and I'm forced to travel across what's left of three states to find the only people I know left alive. To survive, I'll have to scavenge food and supplies and try to avoid violent men who've learned they can take what they want by force. The only way I'm going to make it is by trusting Travis.

Travis used to fix my car, and now he's all I have left in the world. He's gruff and stoic and unfriendly, and I don't really know or like him. But he's all I have left. He'll keep me safe. We'll take care of each other. Until we reach what's left of our town and can finally let go of one another.

Last Light is a standalone post-apocalyptic romance set in the near future after a global catastrophe.

The only thing I didn't like in this book was the fact that there is no mention in the description of the fact that it includes a lot of detailed erotic scenes. But maybe I'm just too old and it's the same with all of the newly written romance books?
However, the scenes are written very tasteful and they are set in a really good story. I loved the characters. Very likable.
The narrator did a fine job too.
All in all, a very good read.

Erotic romance with a story.

okay here we go. good points: this is a cozier post apocalyptic story with only little fights and no hard survival needs. the pace is good and the narrator made the story interesting which would have been otherwise boring and there are some aspects I didn't like -
- why she's carrying a poem book when she never reads in it???
- the mentioning of how much they sweat and smell (a bit overdone in my eyes)
- how she was hung up on him not smiling. Like girl (!!!), he lost his five year old girl some weeks ago, give him a damned break and NO it's not the same aa losing your grandma.
- that the mc was shy about tampons... I mean, c'mon he's a grown man and has a daughter (and hopefully he supported his wife during birth and after), it doesn't make him sexy when he's described as a survivor type
- how she told herself she was mature but assumed again and again until it felt like a song that he surely wants to be with his EX wife when he never said so. so much to being mature.
- the fmc behaved also very naive sometimes (there's a group of men/women, one of them asks her if she wants to join, to be the woman for a single man. Travis the MC sees them as they are (dangerous) but hey no they are nice and kind....Like really? I questioned how she could survive that long but she was still living in Meadow where she was born, so maybe there wasn't much to survive.
I guess the narrator saved this rather weak story.

Flat story - good narrator
