What a fantastic book! If Bill Bryson had published it, it would have been a bestseller - and it deserves to be one! I have read/listened to an abundance of hiking books and languagewise this one is the best! The ample variety of words has left me mesmerised. I think my level of English has improved due to this highly recommended piece of writing. The British humor and wit has been inspiring and mood-lifting. Having hiked parts of the trail myself, I recognized some of the trail and viewpoints and I feel grateful for the opportunity to relive my own stroll. Also, it has made me longing for more.
The only thing I wish the author had done better is crossing out the words "dear reader" (not turquoise ;-)) as it is unnecessary and interrupts the natural reading flow.
I hope the author will hike other trails and write more books - I will listen to all of them for sure! Speaker was good, too.
