Über diesen Titel

In Irony Lives, investigative satirist Paul Krassner addresses, among other things, terroists, security, Enron, and conspiracy theories. This album was recorded on February 16, 2002, at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles.

Dubbed "the father of the underground press" by People magazine, and called a "raving, unconfined nut" by the FBI, Paul Krassner is a counter-culture legend and a comic genius. According to the Los Angles Reader, "Krassner delivers the funniest, most intelligent social and political commentary in town."

Krassner, a crucial figure in the development of America's alternate press, edited and published The Realist from 1958 to 1974, and reincarnated it as a newsletter in 1985. He began his career writing for Mad magazine and has also written articles for Rolling Stone, Playboy, Penthouse, New York, National Lampoon, High Times, The Village Voice, Mother Jones, and The Nation. He even served as editor of Hustler for a brief time.

Paul Krassner is the only person in the world to win awards from both Playboy (for satire) and the Feminist Party Media Workshop (for Journalism). He edited Lenny Bruce's autobiography, How To Talk Dirty and Influence People, and with Lenny's encouragement became a stand-up comedian himself.
