Über diesen Titel

I Hear You follows the journey of Tyler, a devil-may-care, party boy mechanic who loves his job, his friends, and his faithful dog, but the thought of settling down is the last thing on his mind.

That all changes when he meets Gabe, an adorably dimpled, floppy haired deaf man who challenges him in ways he never imagined.

As Tyler starts to fall for Gabe, he realizes his carefree lifestyle may be holding him back from true happiness.

Will he be able to overcome his past and embrace love, or will his desire for freedom and the lure of the party scene prove too powerful?

This heartwarming and steamy story of love, self-discovery, and second chances includes scenes of hurt/comfort, found family, and the cutest doggone puppy love. It is a must-listen for M/M romance fans.

Note: This story includes use of multiple substances.

I had stopped reading the first book in the series because I simply found the two main characters unpleasant, but I liked the second part and thought, “the third one is a charm.” Unfortunately, I was completely wrong. This book rubbed me the wrong way in so many ways... At first, I felt that the deaf character was only there for appearances' sake. I have listened to many LGBTQ+ books that deal with deafness, and they have dealt with the subject in a much more open and sensitive way, providing a much better insight into the deaf community. Secondly, although drug use is listed as a trigger warning, the fact that it is impossible to give consent to sexual acts while intoxicated is treated very flippantly. Apparently, Ty has no problem with being groped, but that doesn't give him the right to kiss or touch others without consent. Especially when it's not clearly communicated that it's just something “casual.” This may be a cultural thing, but in my opinion, a relationship is automatically “exclusive” as soon as kissing occurs, not the other way around (that you have to explicitly say when something is exclusive). The fact that Ty simply does what he likes best without regard for the feelings of others made me really angry at times. I'm also pretty sure that he would have just continued with his “I don't care about other people's feelings” lifestyle if Gabe hadn't been so persistent. (Although you get the feeling that he's also very fixated on appearances, so maybe the two of them are a good match after all.) There's a part in the book where I'm pretty sure Ty would have made out with someone else if Gabe hadn't happened to send a text message. The author tries to sell the whole thing as “character development.” Since I've already listened to the next two parts of the series and think they're very good, but Ty still comes across as extremely unlikable and arrogant, I see absolutely no development. At least the narrator's performance was very good. I saw that the book received many positive reviews. So I guess everyone has their own perspective on the issues.

Not for me
