Henley is off-limits for Levar. So why can’t he stay away?

Five years ago, Levar survived a terrorist attack. The bombing left its scars, but he’s picked up his life. He loves working for the vice president - who is openly bisexual - as his press secretary.

Levar can’t afford a pesky attraction that proves to be frustratingly stubborn. Worse, those highly combustible sparks are with the very last person he should be falling for: Henley Platt, a well-known reporter covering the White House.

Henley may not be Levar’s enemy, but he’s definitely not his friend. He can’t be, not when their jobs put them on opposite sides. Henley is absolutely off-limits, even when he shows his appreciation for the sexy lingerie Levar loves to wear.

When the terrorists strike again with a devastating blow to the White House, Levar and Henley lean on each other for support. The sparks become a raging fire that won’t be doused, but what happens if they’re found out?

Press is the first book in the White House Men series, a romantic suspense gay romance series set in the White House. Think The West Wing but gay, and with less politics. Each book has a new love story with a happily ever after, but the suspense plot ends on a cliff-hanger and will be continued in the rest of the series, so the series needs to be listened to in order. Press has 100,000 words. Strong TW for detailed description of terrorist attack.

What a wonderful love story! Very different from the usual romance novels. Nora Phoenix's writing style is very different from that of many other authors and she was new to me. So far, I am overjoyed to have discovered her.
I liked the White House setting, the press coverage in general, and the very detailed information about many of the secondary characters. I also really liked the length of the book.
The MC's are equal, mature AND they talk to each other! The steamy encounters are hot as is the banter between them 🌶🌶🌶
And I looove John Solo's voice. His vocal range is amazing and so sensual.
I really enjoyed this book and can definitely recommend it. I'm already looking forward to the second volume.

Exquisite

I just finished the last part of the series and thought it would be best to leave a review for the first part. Overall, I am impressed with how the author managed to maintain the suspense of the “backstory” until the very end. This must have taken a lot of planning and work. Unfortunately, I often had the feeling that the author wanted to lecture the reader on how best to behave in certain situations (and what opinion to hold). It also follows the usual pattern—one couple (or triple) and one kink per episode. I particularly liked the episodes where many of the characters met each other. At this point, I would also like to highlight the narrator's excellent performance—distinguishing between so many different characters was no easy task. However, I often had to laugh when a chapter number was read aloud, because it was sometimes recited with such anguish, as if chapter 5 had just separated from chapter 4. In summary, I found many parts to be overly sentimental, and the main characters were all so reasonable and kind that, in my opinion, it bordered on tedious. However, this is certainly a matter of taste, and everyone can discover this for themselves. I definitely recommend giving it a listen.

Good planning

This is so heartbreaking 💔 I could feel the pain all the way through. Now I finally understand where the song il Do Anything for Love” comes from. Truly beautiful. Listen and feel it for yourself 🌈💔🌈

Really Pride❤️
