How to Survive these Books
In short, you can't, therefore, don't buy in the first place.
The idea of the novel is interesting, but the implementation did not please me.
Bought the audiobook because some have compared the author to Sir Terry Pratchett - both are male, but that's about it for similarities.
One example. When the main character is in hell and it is a question of which people are particularly well suited to be possessed by his soul (i.e. serve as a vessel), the author writes something like "people with a low IQ". Tony Moyle had all the options and he chooses that.
TP would never have written something so unimaginative. With TP, the answer might have been "All Manchester United F.C. fans**". The two asterisks would then have been explained in the footnote "Latest scientific research by posseologists...."
There are many such moments in the first book where TM unerringly misses the punch line (more books I could not do to myself).
