Wenn man die brillant bösartige BBC-Verfilmung kennt, so ist Michael Dobbs Buch ohnehin vergleichsweise betulich (vom moralischen Ende ganz abgesehen). Weiters ist sie brutal gekürzt, aber dann kommt noch die fast einschläfernde Stimme von Paul Eddington hinzu.

Er war ein großartiger PM Hacker in "Yes, Minister", aber die Geschichte müsste von Sir Humphrey erzählt werden. Sie braucht den Reiz des amoralischen....

Und mit der neuen US-Serie hat das Ganze schon gar nichts zu tun.
