Gwendy lernt mit Hilfe der Button Box, die ihr ein geheimnisvoller Fremder an der Spitze der Suicide Stairs, also auf Castle View, schenkt, dass sie ihr Leben aus eigener Kraft in den Griff kriegen kann.
Ohje, dieser Satz eben ist so verschachtelt und enthält dabei nicht einmal das wichtigste Detail. Die Frage ist doch, wo liegt Castle View? Die Antwort ist: In Castle Rock! Zumindest in diesem Fall sind wir "back to the roots". Was mir sehr gefällt. Aber irgendwie kann ein guter Schriftsteller nicht immer nur anderen helfen, das Schreiben zu lernen. Denn dadurch verliert er seine "Constant Readers", wie King sie, also uns und mich, selbst bezeichnet.
Maggie Siff dagegen ist genial. Mir gefällt ihre Erzählweise vor allem deshalb, weil sie nicht in diese unglaublich hohen und kreischenden Töne verfällt, in die englisch-sprachinge Vorleserinnen oft verfallen.
Naja, und Stephen King?
Es kommen wieder bessere Zeiten!
