An engaging retelling of the battle of Thermopylae. The portrayal of the heroism of the Greeks was inspiring. Well performed by Derek Jacobi. Very graphic violence and crude language--not for kids.

The sound quality of the narrator is very bad. It makes the audio book very hard if not from time to time impossible to understand if you're not fully focused on every single word. If you want to listen to it while working you'll get lost and won't be able to keep track of the story.

Erst durch das parallele Lesen des Buches, fiel mir auf, dass es sich hier um eine sicherlich auf die Hälfte gekürzte Fassung handelt.
Eine andere Fassung, leider nicht bei Audible verfügbar, hat über 14h.
Der Sprecher ist gut. Die Geschichte grosßartig.
