Instead, this is an articulate and absorbing account of what life is really like among a rare breed of arrogant, cocky, boisterous, and fun-loving young men who readily transform into steely professionals at the controls of a fighter aircraft.

Als DCS-Warthog-Pilot (virtuell :-))) und meinen eigenen Erlebnissen als ehemaliger Soldat, kann ich die authentische Schilderung der Kameradschaft, der Arbeit in Stäben und der "Blumen am Wegesrand" besonders gut nachvollziehen. Ladds Erinnerungen sind eine Hommage an Mut, Kameradschaft und die Herausforderungen eines Kampfpiloten.

In addition to thrilling combat scenes, the book also offers humorous and reflective moments. Ladd describes the camaraderie among pilots, the pressure of constant deployments, and adapting to the technological advancements of the aircraft he flew.
