Very good audiobook! Enjoyable from beginning to end. Yes, a page-turner. Correct historical background in every aspect. Geographical sites at every moment congruent. The story and all characters very special. Twists and turns intelligently integrated. Since it is a novel there are some behaviours that seem wild, even absurd. Nevertheless, all in all, a more than recommendable book/audiobook. The narration was superb, what a voice! Unfortunately, her spanish leaves many wishes open. Not even once could she say Buenos Aires correctly. As if the "i" was mute :-(

it's strange enough to have to listen to a book from a German author, written in German, in English, but that's how it is sometimes. Berlin street names are a ride in English.
I got the audio book because I know and love the book and so I was quite shocked to notice that the entire epilogue had been cut off. Most likely for the sensibilities of an American audience. It diminishes the book. It leaves it open ended where it should have a decidedly closed ending. not a fan
