The incredible first memoir by System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian

With nearly 40 million record sales, three albums topping the Billboard charts, a Grammy win and a legion of fans, System Of A Down are one of the biggest metal bands on the planet. At their core has always been Serj Tankian, whose journey from the streets of Beirut to rock superstardom is as remarkable and unlikely as you'll get.

By dint of luck, circumstance, struggle, and more than a little talent, Serj has had the chance to live an extraordinary life. In Down With the System, he retraces this remarkable and unlikely journey, and explores what it's taught him - about music, about art, about activism, and about himself. From teaming up with Tom Morello to push social justice causes on unsuspecting metalheads, arguing with LAPD officers over the best way to quell his rioting fans, and traveling with Anthony Bourdain through Armenia one meal at a time, Down With the System is an immigrant's tale, an activist's awakening, and rock memoir unlike any other.©2024 United Trust of Sonic Preservation LLC Komponisten & Musiker Musik Unterhaltung & Stars

Serj you are an amazing human being! This book opened so much new sides of you to me. Throughout the book I had chills all over my body, I laughed loudly while riding my bike and listening to it, I cried, I ruminated for a week on what I heard. AMAZING!

Must read for anyone, not only SOAD fans

Having Serj telling the whole story was perfect! Very inspirational not only from a fan‘s perspective. This man is a pure artist and a symbol for what it means being true to oneself. Thanks for sharing this Serj!

A must-hear not only for SOAD fans

Although he is using advanced english i was cabable tobunderstand everything. it was well written although i habe to admit that it was repetetive (armenien genocide e.g.)

Good listen

He reads his book himself, sometimes quotes lyrics which he sings. His Story is interesting, his thoughts are intelligent and the Armenian cause is important, not only for System fans
