Über diesen Titel

Years of struggle have left Zecia weakened in their war against the Kan'Tanu Cult.

Negotiating for peace is not an option when the System is in control. It can only be purchased through blood and steel. No one is spared from the winds of war.

Zac and his elite armies have been forced to the frontlines just as opportunity strikes. An ancient war fortress has risen from the dimensional depths.

Built by the Limitless Empire, it holds power and secrets far beyond what's seen on the desolate frontiers. Seizing it could be the key to changing the winds of war. Zac finds himself in the heart of the struggle.

No matter what, he won't let it fall into the Kan'Tanu's hands.

I still enjoy it enough, due to the satisfying worldbuilding, and acceptable plot, and that this series comes without some of my pet pieves from the genre.

Still love it for the worldbuilding

Es gab schon deutlich bessere Teile aber insgesamt ok. Inhaltlich im üblichen Rahmen, störend sind vor allem überflüssige Nebencharactere (z.b. Emily) und der fehlende Fortschritt.

Ganz ok

story is as good as ever but cause of the many small details it's start getting complicated

Zack is a not-dumb meathead, always important for me. This is a fun journey that keeps up the quality and fun

So.. awesome story, every powerup is deserved, the worldbuilding is nice, however the pacing at the moment is very bad imo.

The Story keeps opening subarcs, introducing new enemies and allies with their struggles yet the main arc keeps becoming more distant..

Sure the wars progressing toward ultom and past introductions need to be resolved however the scope keeps increasing without any silver lining almost like the author/s want to cram the whole store to reach the peak within ultom.
If thats the case then it makes sense but even if he reaches monarchy within ultom, how will it keep going until supremacy? Why are they trying to infuse all known factions into the dilemma, introducing new battlefront with the Theya and the Beast alliance, technocrat factions with expanding scopes, Void Temple, Limitless Empire remnants and the emperials and the whole Terminus Counsel. I love a difficult to follow story I can ponder on while not listening but honestly its too much yet too shallow to find the common denominator to connect it to, which is the main purpose of a difficult story, no?

Seems like the planning of what goes into the current arc is done on the fly, making the proportion of impact of each faction on the story skewed, which - atleast for me - is really annoying since we have absolute no goal in sight. The eternal heritance was denounced ages ago, so hes currently fighing for absolutely nothing except getting stronger and War contribution, trying to escape his "Fate" doing the exact opposite.

I hope the path opens up soon (Written on Chapter 49) but I cant keep listening to a increasingly complex story with many open ends and no palpable goal.

The previous chapters were awesome tho, otherwise I wouldnt be here.. just seems like the Author/s want to continously up the ante in a way quick or atleast too disconnected manner without resolving anything, forgetting to give the readers/listeners a goal to connect it all with. (I get it, a Pillar of the System is a big deal, but we have no clue of how great an impact it'll have on Zack)

Why?

Zac is a relatively human and relatable character in how he goes about things, and how circumstances weigh on his mind, while Pavi Proczko does a good job bringing the character to life. The problem is the author, who created an interesting world with some good characters and development, but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to writing. His vocabulary is utterly repetative, throwing the same 12 big sounding words and the name of the one fancy sounding area of the body they seemingly know (Glabella, I can't hear the word anymore since he uses it so often....) might fly in Middle School. But a published author with a series of 14 books by now should have a better rounded writing skill set. The way certain scenes are drawn out, waiting for 10 minutes until another looting spree or a particularly profound meditation session are over,... I am sorry to say it is just excrutiating.

If Ogras wasn't such a great character early in the series, I would have dropped it early on. By now he became somewhat of a sad repetative stereotype without much development until is clan came back into play (finally). But holy shit, this author is a pain who executes a good story idea seemingly as painful as possible.
