Appreciate the story about the depth of depression, but I feel Alice gave up too quickly. Have known women who had much less and went through worse, but fought and worked hard to keep their kids. When a husband goes into rehab, surely their wife also is there to support him, in this book it was the adopted mother who mainly supports her son. Story a bit repetitive and a bit disappointing.
