From the voiceover to the storyline to the very annoying main characters, this is undoubtedly the worst novel of Julia Quinn that I have listened to. I listened to all the rest of her novels and never felt so annoyed. Should not have been published, and this voiceover lady should never be hired again for Julia Quinn novel again. Her voice is so high pitch and annoying that the characters sound even worse than they already are.

Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten. Bitte versuche es in ein paar Minuten noch einmal.
Mir hat die Vortragsweise in dem Hörbuch der ansonsten großartigen Schriftstellerin Julia Quinn überhaupt nicht gefallen. Die Satzmelodie, besonders bei der weiblichen Hauptfigur, wurde überkandidelt und völlig übertrieben gesprochen. Manchmal kam ein amerikanischer (!) Akzent durch. Auch wurde das Wort „scones“ wie „scons“ ausgesprochen, was ihm eine ganz andere Bedeutung beimisst. Für mich gibt es vorerst keine Regency-Hörbücher von audible mehr, vor allem, da sie anscheinend von derselben Sprecherin vorgelesen werden. Mein subjektives Urteil: keine Empfehlung und schon gar keinen einzigen Stern (was bei den Möglichkeiten zur Bewertung leider überhaupt nicht wählbar ist).
