Es war nicht so ein ständiges hin und her. Ich mochte die Charaktere. An manchen Stellen hätte es noch mehr in die Tiefe gehen können, aber das kommt vielleicht im nächsten Teil

I was unsure if I should get the audiobook or read it myself. The author reading the book herself tipped the scales for me. I’m lucky I chose to listen to the book, since I literally couldn’t stop and this way I got at least a few necessities done today.
Needless to say, I loved the story! Easily one of my favorites and will become part of my comfort media arsenal!

Daindreths Assassin is really classic epic fantasy. The writing style is very atmospheric and the author did quite well in narrating herself, too.

Amira has been an assassin and a slave since young age. The only person she has gotten unconditional love from is her little step sister.
When her father decides that her sister should marry the archduke Amira is worried. But absolutely baffled when her father commands her to kill the heir to the throne before his arrival to pick up her sister. And Amira can't act against her fathers commands, her curse does not let her.
Can she kill her sisters betrothed?

I really liked the concept and the dynamics between the characters. The magic called Ka is well described.
But the archduke is not a very complex character. He wants to be rid of his curse and is kind to Amira. And because only her sister has ever been close to her, Amira is quite easy convinced he is worth saving.

Entgegen der üblichen Fantasygeschichten werden toxische Verhaltensmuster in Beziehungen benannt und hinterfragt. Für das Genre erfrischend viel Empowerment/
A Fantasy Romane which adresses toxic trades of the main relationship. Also a welcome amount of Self empowerment.

Gute Geschichte, gute Vorleserin/ lovely Story and lovely speaker

Am Anfang war ich irritiert, dass die Autorin das Hörbuch selbst spricht, aber nach dem Einhören war ich beeindruckt. Die Handlung ist von Anfang an spannend, Amira und Daindreth werden sehr deutlich gezeichnet als Charaktere und ich konnte gut mit ihnen mitfühlen. Die Romanze ist da, aber sie entwickelt sich sinnvoll und nicht als unglaubwürdige Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Ich liebe es, dass keine Sexszene vorkommt.
Auch der Kampf und generelle Umgang mit Waffen sind sehr gut recherchiert und klingen nachvollziehbar (es funktioniert nicht einfach weil dir Welt magisch ist sondern physikalische und körperliche Grenzen wurden beachtet)

Book Goblin inspired me to listen to this book. I was impressed with the world building although I grow increasingly frustrated with Daindreth's choices, but it is reasonable considering he has probably given up hope years ago. I think the author did a good job of narrating her own book, bilut I was a little confused at how many different accents the characters had. I would expect that people growing up in the same region of the country would speak similarly but maybe they are supposed to come from different regions. Either way, I look forward to the next book in the series.

Getting more interesting by the Page I am looking forward to the second book. As English isn’t my first language it took some getting used to but as soon as you are into it and realized which words are not English (Kadrahan…) it’s simply awesome
