The narration is *chef's kiss*
The perfect beginning of a fantasy saga. The narration was lovely and immersive and I needed answers, not rest.

So many pretty words
Daindreths Assassin is really classic epic fantasy. The writing style is very atmospheric and the author did quite well in narrating herself, too.
Amira has been an assassin and a slave since young age. The only person she has gotten unconditional love from is her little step sister.
When her father decides that her sister should marry the archduke Amira is worried. But absolutely baffled when her father commands her to kill the heir to the throne before his arrival to pick up her sister. And Amira can't act against her fathers commands, her curse does not let her.
Can she kill her sisters betrothed?

I really liked the concept and the dynamics between the characters. The magic called Ka is well described.
But the archduke is not a very complex character. He wants to be rid of his curse and is kind to Amira. And because only her sister has ever been close to her, Amira is quite easy convinced he is worth saving.

Hat mir gut gefallen
Es war nicht so ein ständiges hin und her. Ich mochte die Charaktere. An manchen Stellen hätte es noch mehr in die Tiefe gehen können, aber das kommt vielleicht im nächsten Teil

just...why?!
It 's so annoying that these kind of tragic love stories are always written with protagonists who somewhere in the middle of the story just suddenly experience a dip in their intelligence. It feels so lazy on the part of the authors when they can't write a believeable conflict without taking away the intelligence of their protagonists.
This is one such story. The trained and highly intelligent assassin is so distraught when her fiancé doesn't want to have her in his bed since he thinks he couln't hold himself back from making love to her, that she loses any kind of foresight, planing and otherwise logical reasoning.
Really, all the fiancé wants is to destroy the curse before having children, that should've motivated the protagonist to find a solution instead of making her a blabbering idiot who can only think about jumping into the next bed with her fiancé.
