    Inhaltsangabe

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare - poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events, inspiring Outside magazine to name him The Fittest (Real) Man in America.

In Can't Hurt Me, he shares his astonishing life story and reveals that most of us tap into only 40% of our capabilities. Goggins calls this The 40% Rule, and his story illuminates a path that anyone can follow to push past pain, demolish fear, and reach their full potential.

An annotated edition of Can’t Hurt Me, offering over two hours of bonus content featuring deeper insights and never-before-told stories shared by David. Not available in other formats.

    Sprecher super, Sprache furchtbar

    A true inspiration

If you really looking forward to a self-help book/podcast that values not just the author and his unfamiliar life journey to the amazing person he is now but values you as listener just as the author get this one. I just love the way he wrote this masterpiece. Honest, real and no sweet talk.

Interesting and entertaining with a new concept

What I really liked about this audio version of the book was the concept. Not just read in a typical way, the whole experience of the book was pleasant and entertaining. It was a good choice to let Adam read from the book because I don’t think David’s voice is suited for it. But having his insight on the different stories of the book was very cool and a refreshing experience in listening to an audio book.
The book itself was a good one with nuggets of wisdom one can take away and really understanding that hard work can take you anywhere. David doesn’t sugarcoat any of his experiences which is something I appreciate. The only thing I personally did not like was that after some chapters the stories felt a little repetitive - David accomplished a lot in his life but it felt a little bit like listing them. What kept me listening was that I knew he would shine a light on what he learned during those experiences and these were the important parts.
All in all I would recommend this audio book to anyone interested in having an example of what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it. Also, you need to like stories about the military.

To be honest I just inhaled this book and it's so amazing his story is so great so big its very motivating and shows us what's possible if we are willing to put in the work beyond our comfort zone and to see and feel the place that's behind the suffering

his only motivation is : i'm a badass

Its soooo boring.... The whole book is about how strong he was... yea he was strong... other people were strong .... he had no special secret .... just rambling all the time about what a "strong motherfucker" he has become
after 5 hours i quit, i really really dont care how he managed to come through these 3 hard recruitments.
    Meh

Awesome story or just an imposer?

Truth is the story is real. He had a bad childhood, became a cheater and fatty but was able to recover and be a seal that runs ultra marathons.
This is somehow amazing, especially the seal training with the hell weak and badwater ultra marathon. How is a person able to get up every day and endure 16hours of sport just to do the same the next day?

But does he maybe just have psychological problems that he still has not solved? Why does he need to tell everybody how great he is over and over even if he argues that this is not what this book is about?
How can anyone be so sadistic to cause so much pain to one owns body each day and all the time during his mid twenties to his forties?
For sure he might be also rich now, but did he ever work his but off to be successfull in a job? When you look at his story its all about training the body and enduring physical pain. There is no brain required. He had choices, also as a child and decided to become a cheater. Yes there are people that end up worse but also that end up better.

All these points make me somehow refuse this book although his story might be quite interesting. But maybe it would have been better in another format, especially because it contains a lot of repetition. Over and over.

    Uncomfortable volume

The speakers volume is constantly much higher than David's and that just hurts. Especially when you have to turn the volume up for David cause of background noise and then the speaker screams in.. That's very bad.

Project slash didn‘t work for me

The story David Goggins had to tell was quite good, but the „inspirational touch“ he tried to give it did not work for me. But by far the worst on my opinion was the style of the book to make it like a podcast.
