Same with the other local magic users who are a goldsmith selling charms and a lady who's cosmetics and bath bombs work a little too good to be true.
When Avery inheritages a stack of old books and some heirlomes from an old lady in town. She first hears of missing family grimoires and of course she wants to know what's in hers.
She is angry at Alex, one of the other witches, for being a lady's men and but the sparks between them fly.
The narrator isn't great. She leaves the end of sentences hanging and her voice is somehow squeaky, but this might be a recording problem.
But the story isn't making up for it either. I would guess it is the work of a new author who has not written that much fantasy and not research about magic that deep. But there a several books on here so I can't tell.
The book is something but the story sadly came of as too flat for me. Because I like my magic explained deeper and Characters feelings not to jump out of a closet a surprise.
