Über diesen Titel

Blur, who triggered Britpop, caught the media headlines in their constant fighting and competition with Oasis. In this unique audiobiography, Damon Albarn sidesteps and ignores the Oasis situation and really does not see them as a threat - as far as Damon is concerned, Noel is a poser and no one knows what is going on inside Liam Gallagher’s head. He talks about Blur and their song writing and recording and how he's changed his attitude regarding drugs. The band has matured and internal relationships have strengthened.

This is not a music release by the artist or record label, and sound quality may vary.

We hear about the music, the inspiration, and Damon's feelings on the Jarvis Cocker/Michael Jackson episode. Fans, collectors, and music historians will enjoy this exclusive recording.

Beschreibung von Audible

In 1995 English quartet Blur chased rival Oasis from the top of the charts amidst a scathingly personal media spat that the press dubbed "The Battle of Britpop". Soon after, front man Damon Albarn - the prolific songsmith behind both Blur and electronic band Gorillaz - sat down to reflect on his newfound fame. Among other subjects, the confident Cockney offhandedly dismisses adversary Liam Gallagher, Oasis' outspoken singer, and casually discusses the relationship between drugs and music. Albarn has friendly advice for his contemporary, Pulp front man Jarvis Cocker, following the latter's sensational dustup with Michael Jackson at the Brit Awards. The articulate front man also veers into headier issues, offering a shrewd take on sexuality and chauvinism in the burgeoning British lad culture.
