Good, but character arc betrayed.

The book is generally well written and the audio performance ist excellent.
Unfortunately, there is a critical issue with the protagonist, at least for me personally: After a confrontation late in the story with the antagonist, in which the protagonist undergoes emotional catharsis and some much needed character growth in order to defy and overcome the antagonist, in their next meeting the protagonist is simply reset character wise and submits to the antagonist with barely a token amount of resistance for no reason other than the antagonist having shown up.
This is such a grave betrayal of the protagonist's character development arc that I personally could not bear to finish the remainder of the audiobook.
The rating is only as high as it is because the author was extremely skillful in making me emotionally invested in her up to that point.
