Über diesen Titel
National best-selling author Hannah Reed returns with her fourth Scottish Highland mystery, in which she is swept up in a murder following a Sir Walter Scott celebration.
Spring is here, and romance author Eden Elliott has settled into her new life in the picturesque village of Glenkillen. Love is all around her, but Eden is still searching for her own real-life romance. She is also dealing with a creative meltdown and a robber who is running amok in the village assaulting local pensioners. When Eden is invited to a supper in honor of one of Scotland’s most celebrated literary giants, a guest is murdered, and she puts aside her personal issues to dig into deeply buried secrets. But she better find the killer soon if she wants to be alive to overcome that writer’s block - and write another happy ending.

And the resolution of the "love story" was kind of tacked on as though the auther had lost interest in the whole thing and just wanted to get it done.
Well, at least there was an ending. But I'm not too sad about the story not continuing.
Over all it was a good series but it feels kind of a cheat that I got the first three books for free but had to pay for the worst one.
SPOILER ALERT:
Yes the girl got her guy at the end (not that it was much of a surprise).
Final Resolution to the Series

Like the other two books in the series the atmosphere, story and characters have a certain charm to it - not least thanks to the narrator - but lack depth, development and credibility. The author is writing cozy crime and really shouldn't try to be clever or overly dramatic, especially not in the grand finale:
Of course (!) Eden sets out alone to confront the murderer (again) and of course (!) she wonders how she could be so stupid (again) and of course (!) she manages to overcome the murderer on her own and without a weapon (again) and of course (!) everybody then rushes to the scene to comfort her (again). Sorry, but that's just so silly!
I'm equally fed up with everybody telling Eden that she is too bright for her own good when she really isn't. It takes her ages to draw the most obvious conclusions, she has absolutely no concept of proper police procedure and she keeps making the same mistakes.
The love triangle which kept me mildly interested in the other two books is crushed by a most unsatisfying soap ending. Not even the beautiful Scottish setting and accents could save this one for me.
I am so frustrated with this series. It's like eating Pringles or bad sex. You can't stop yourself in the act but you instantly regret it afterwards.
Shallow and silly - not saved by the narrator this time
