Medium and clairvoyant Simon Kincaide owns a Myrtle Beach boardwalk shop where he runs ghost tours, holds seances, and offers private psychic readings, making a fresh start after his abilities cost him his lover and his job as a folklore professor.

The narrator has a pleasant enough pitch, though, I had difficulties distinguishing the characters from one another. I also needed to focus quite a bit on the story because it tended to just fade into the background.
As for the book itself, I personally didn't like the sex scenes too much. They are quite graphic and don't leave much space for imagination.
Not sure yet whether I'm going to listen to the others books in this series or not.

Fantastic book, I love the mix between a ghost mystery, a murder investigation and a love story. The main characters are both very likeable and have chemistry. They both are dealing with a change in their life, having moved to a new city and trying to set foot there. They also are not to young and have learned the hard way that not everyone you think of as a friend really is one when it matters.
I liked the fast story and the sex scenes that appear frequently are graphic but always full of love and respect.
The perspective swaps between Vic and Simon and the narrator is really good. Maybe a second one would have added to the fun.
I have so far heard this one, the novel and the second book and still enjoy the story. I also started on one of the authors other series.

I loved Simon's character and backstory as well as the building relationship between him and Vic. This dynamic laced into and interesting crime case combined with ghost stories is a take on crime novels that was unfamiliar to me personally so far. While it may have lacked the super detailed construct of backstory and information that most murder cases in crime novels are based on, it still was a very pleasant story to listen to. I look forward to listening to the sequels, too :)

A lovely story with likable characters! The plot was interesting enough, though the identity of the murderer came very out of left field for me. The love story, though a bit rushed, works because the main characters do have undeniable chemistry.
All in all a cute little story with a good, if sometimes a little quiet, narrator.

The meet cute that involves a medium and a police detective. Add to that a serial killer on the loose and you have the beginnings of this story. I really like it and Kale Williams does an awesome job at bringing the characters to life. It is definetly worth reading/listening to and probably more than once.
