- Jason White began keeping a notebook in January 2010 documenting a soft spot roughly 12 feet in diameter that returned larger after repairs.
- A geological survey in 2004 flagged inadequate compaction in the upper 12-14 feet and recommended a 75-foot exclusion zone around a former quarry pond 140 feet across and 18-22 feet deep.
