Fog revealed a vivid red boxcar sitting on rails that had been out of use for nearly a decade, with a last inspection stamped September 4, 2009 - and no continuous track left to carry it there. How could a railcar that shows rolling wheel wear and traveled less than one mile arrive on a spur severed by a four-foot-deep concrete drainage channel with no marks across it?
In this episode, we present the sequence of events from the early-morning sighting to the technical inspection that followed, laying out the conflicting physical evidence and the unanswered question: who moved the car and how did it get there?

- Donna Green photographed the boxcar at 5:40 AM on September 10, 2019, a quarter mile into her run.
- The boxcar carried a placard reading "TALCOTT SWITCHING CO. - SPUR 9" and an inspection stencil dated September 4, 2009.
- Spur Nine was decommissioned in 2010 and rails removed; a concrete drainage channel 4 feet deep and 6 feet wide was poured across the southern approach in 2013.
- Night-shift switching coordinator Debra Edwards had logged every movement that night from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM and recorded three movements (two through-trains and one grain elevator pickup).
- Inspector Carl Mott found wheel flanges with normal rolling wear and estimated the car traveled less than one mile, slowly, with almost no heat on brake shoe linings.
