A rhythmic tapping came through solid brick at 2:15 a.m. on April 3, 2011, from a section of a Harlowe dormitory wall that, by one set of plans, housed a fourteen-by-eighteen-foot matron's office-and by another set of plans simply did not exist. Measurements later found an unexplained two feet two inches of interior space and an eleven-inch thick exterior projection across eighteen horizontal feet-so what was actually inside that erased room?
