In 1981, Nova Scotia land surveyor Fred Nolan discovered five cone-shaped granite boulders arranged in a cross formation measuring 360 feet wide by 867 feet tall on Oak Island. Geologist Petra Mudie confirmed the boulders were not glacially deposited. Architect and researcher Brian Pharoah identified sacred proportions (144, 288, 360, 432, 720, 864) matching Chartres Cathedral and the Temple Mount, and demonstrated that the formation encodes equinox and solstice alignments. Christopher Morford demonstrated that the boulders align with drilled stones to form sightlines converging on the Garden Shaft. Petter Amundsen predicted and found buried stones at positions calculated from a Kabbalistic Tree of Life projection. A matching five-stone formation exists on confirmed Templar land in Yorkshire, England.
