Module 3 focuses on one of the biggest challenges parents face when their child is struggling: communication. When conversations feel tense, short, or non-existent, it’s easy to worry, overthink, or feel shut out. This module helps you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and how to reconnect in a way that feels calmer and more effective.
We explore why adolescents often struggle to talk — especially when their mental health is affected — and why silence, “I don’t know,” or defensiveness usually signal overwhelm rather than disinterest. You’ll learn how to listen in a way that helps your child feel safe and understood, and how to phrase things so they’re more likely to stay open instead of shutting down.
We also look at what to avoid, how to handle difficult conversations without escalating conflict, and how to stay connected even when they don’t want to talk. This isn’t about perfect scripts — it’s about small changes that build trust over time.
By the end of this module, you’ll feel clearer about why communication feels hard and more confident in your ability to create moments of connection that genuinely help.
