Gray Skies, Concrete Dreams is a raw, literary dive into the quiet chaos of modern life.
Matt Reynolds appears to have it all. He has a good job, good friends, and an ex who likes to stop by for the occasional booty call. But beneath the surface, his life is in a slow-motion collapse. Caught in the apathetic monotony of a soul-crushing tech job during the 2008 Great Recession, Matt drifts through days filled with meetings, coffee, and cigarettes, and nights that blur into booze-soaked escapism.
His world takes a turn with the arrival of Sophie, a beautiful and assertive woman who earns her living as a stripper. Matt perceives Sophie as the one who will rescue him from his mundane existence; however, with a strong sense of identity, she isn’t here to perform as his manic pixie dream girl.
As his habits spiral further into self-sabotage, Matt is forced to confront who he is versus who he imagined he’d become. Can he recognize the need for change without hitting rock bottom?
